cinec 2010 - Positive Review

cinec – International Trade Fair for Cine Equipment and Technology
18th – 20th September 2010
M,O,C, Munich

cinec 2010 was a very successful show. Angelika Albrecht, Managing Director of ALBRECHT Gesellschaft für Fachausstellungen und Kongresse mbH, and organizer of the cinec, says: " With 4% less exhibition space, but 10% more exhibitors and a constant number of visitors (3,800) we are very happy about this year’s turnout!"

Registrations from 61 nations and all continents as well as the mixture of different languages in the halls proved once again that cinec is popular all over the world and attractive for experts from all countries.
Almost half of the companies engaged in film technology worldwide are based in the city and region of Munich. This could also be seen in the number of exhibitors. 40 percent came to the center of cine technology from abroad: 173 of the leading manufacturers from Germany, Great Britain, the United States of America and 12 other countries presented their novelties and developments – from previsualization to postproduction and archiving.
The focus was on the work on set: almost the whole range of camera, grip and lighting technology for the international film production could be seen and tested hands-on in Munich – once again the position of the cinec as the most relevant trade show of its kind was emphasized.

Without doubt, Stereo 3D was the predominant topic of the extremely well attended trade fair.
It was also the main theme of this year’s ancillary program with 25 events on three days. About 600 participants attended the varied program, which had been composed by Alaric Hamacher, Virtual Experience and Prof. Dietrich Sauter, HFF Potsdam. The program was supported by ARRI, CHRISTIE, Volfoni and the Cluster Audiovisual Media.
Another highlight was once again the presentation of the cinecAwards. During a state reception in the Kaisersaal of Residenz München, the coveted trophies were given to nine innovative products by the Bavarian Society for the Advancement of Film Technology on Sunday. A list of the winners can be found at
